Class 38(5) An insulating contact-carrying bar 7 having a guide pin 14 vertically-movable in the lower ends of apertures 13 in side plates 12 is biased by springs 9 against a roller 17 on the dolly 2 so that when the dolly is turned about its pivot 11 on the bridge 1 a bridging contact plate 8 (or roller) carried in an aperture 18 in the bar 7 and extending beyond the sides of the latter moves relatively to a pair of fixed contacts 5 mounted on either side of the bar to make or break the circuit. A further contact 8 may be provided at the other end of the bar 7 to co-operate with a further pair of fixed contacts 5 and form a 2-way switch
