719,484. Drying-apparatus. HOPOL, Ltd. March 16, 1953 [March 14, 1952], No. 6633/52. Class 34(2) Apparatus for drying ceramic ware &c. comprises a cabinet a having within it a continuous chain conveyer b following a zigzag path and carrying trays d to support the ware the movement of the conveyer being intermittent and arranged so that when the conveyer is stationary the trays on adjacent runs of conveyer are in staggered disposition, hot air being blown downwards from ducts e which correspond in number to the trays in a given path and are arranged so that the trays when stationary are directly beneath said ducts. The ducts e have adjustable baffles to regulate flow and the moist air is extracted through a duct l. The ware travels from a region of high humidity to one of low humidity and is subjected to a gradual temperature rise.
