Abstract

638,879. Drying ovens. STORDY ENGINEERING, Ltd., and STORDY, J. J. July 16, 1948, No. 18901/47 [Class 34(ii)] In a pottery drying kiln wherein an endless vertically arranged conveyer chain carries suspended trays 16 upwardly from the loading side of the oven through a counter current of air, the air is heated by blowing it by fans 32 through a heater battery 35 mounted in a duct 34 in the lower part of the oven and extending upwardly inside the chain, from which duct the heated air is directed through holes 38 on to the articles in the descending trays at the unloading side of the oven and passes around the top of the oven to the fan intakes.
