Abstract
737,831. Drying apparatus. MAJER, H. Sept. 22, 1953 [Sept. 22, 1952], No. 26160/53. Class 34 (2). [Also in Group XXX] Apparatus for drying paper tubes 4 comprising vertically travelling endless chain conveyers which carry the tubes through hot air, has the tube carriers 3 in the form of fingers or pins extending outwards from links of the conveyer chains. The carriers may have a single recess on each link 5 (Fig. 3) or may have three recesses on a link 1, each recess accommodating three sleeves (Fig. 4). A chamber 21 subdivided by partitions 22, 23, 24 has conveyers 17, 18, 19, 20 therein vertically arranged so that the tubes 4 pursue a zig-zag course. Hot air is supplied at 25 and the tubes are loaded by a ram device 28 which is coupled to a pusher device 27 for effecting transfer from one conveyer to another, the dried tubes being discharged by a deflector plate 30.
