Abstract

710,771. Lifting jacks. MORRE CORPORATION, L. C. Oct. 2, 1951 [Oct. 7, 1950], No. 22914/51. Class 78 (3) The lifting screws in the tower jacking structure described in Specification 680,589 are driven synchronously by a power unit 66 located at the centre of the base of the tower and' operatively connected with the jack driving shafts 23 through shafts 78. The power unit is mounted on a detachable frame 60 which engages two of the lower girts 51 with hooks 62, said unit consisting of an air motor mounted vertically above a worm reduction gear operatively connected with shafts 78. These shafts are adjustable in length and each consists of a pair of splined rods 77 engaging a splined sleeve 78; set screws 79 being provided to retain the parts in their adjusted position.
