689,262. Grouped machine drives. MIAG VERTRIEBSGES. Sept. 28, 1950 [Sept. 28, 1949], No. 23752/50. Class 80 (ii). Each of a group of roller-milling or other machines 1 is individually driven by a common motor- or belt-driven countershaft 2 through an expanding-pulley-controlled planet-train 12, the range of ratio adjustment of which includes forward, standstill and reverse speeds. For each machine the shaft 2 carries a sun 7 and expanding-pulley 8, the latter driving through a similar pulley 10 and pinion 11 a ring-gear 12 meshing planets carried on a freely-mounted hollow output sleeve carrying a belt-pulley 3 driving the particular machine. The gearing may be integral with the machine or attached thereto.
