Abstract
660,400. Buildings.' SEBY, C. J. April 5, 1949 [April 5, 1948], No. 9222/49. Class 20(iv) A building comprises sills 1, Figs. 1 and 3, forming a floor frame; main spars 2, Fig. 1, forming a roof or ceiling frame; corner posts 37, Figs. 3 and 5, connecting said frames; wall posts 38, Fig. 5, between opposed sills and spars; floor beams 3, Figs. 1 and 3 between opposed sills; and roof beams 4, Fig. 1, between opposed spars, the whole forming the main framework of the structure. The sills, corner posts and spars are of hollow rectangular section enclosing rectangular channels in which are received the limbs 33, 34, 35, Fig. 3, of right-angled scarf pieces, and the edges of cladding boards 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 19, Fig. 1, are secured in grooves in two sides of the sills, spars and corner posts. The wall posts, floor and roof beams extend at right angles to and into the respective channels, through corresponding openings in the sills and spars. Various modifications of details are described.
