Abstract

628,789. Agricultural harrows, HORSTMANN, B. G., and FAIRE, J. H. C. Oct. 16, 1947, No. 27733. [Class 6(i)] Harrow teeth, arranged in two or more parallel rows, are reciprocated transversely of the direction of forward movement of the machine, the movement of successive rows being in opposite directions. A bar 1 carries rocker-arms 9 attached at their outer ends to parallel tine-carrying bars 7a, 7b. Motion is transmitted from a power take-off shaft through bevel gearing 13 and an eccentric and connecting rod 10 to the bar 7a. In a modification two rows of tines are pivoted on opposite sides of the bar 1, their upper ends being pivoted to the reciprocated bars 7a, 7b.
