Abstract

612,031. Control mechanism. SKIDMORE, H., PHILLIPS, A., and BUCKLEY, B. May 15, 1946, No. 14732. [Class 136 (i)] In a hand grip for operating a Bowden cable, the hand lever b is restrained from lateral vibration by balls h placed between it and the housing a in which it is pivoted. The housing a is made of light alloy and is secured to the handle-bar c by a clip d. The housing is recessed at e to suit handle-bars having different curvatures. The lever b is pivoted on a shouldered bolt f with spring washers g interposed. The balls h are pressed against the side of the lever b by bolts i and if necessary springs. The lever b has shoulders j, k to limit its movement and a member m is secured to it which has a slot to take the nipple on the end of the cable n. The end of the covering o of the cable is secured to the housing a.
