630,295. Handle-bar control mechanism. WESTMORELAND, A. G. May 21, 1947, No. 13612. [Class 136 (i)] A twist grip for operating a Bowden cable includes a tubular handle provided in its bore with a plurality of different diameters such that a common handle can be rotatably mounted on any one of a plurality of different diameters of handlebar or the like. As shown in Fig. 1, the handle 1 has a bore 2 the outer end of which is formed with different diameters 4, 5 having connecting parts 6, 7 the handle being so adapted to fit handle-bars of varying diameter. Instead of the end of the handle having different diameters it may be fitted with a stepped bush. The handle is formed with flanges 9 and 10, an outer groove ring 11 for the cable which is enclosed by a split clip. The handle may also have surface grooves 8. Specification 630,303 is referred to.
