[Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXI] In an auxiliary driving mechanism for pedalpropelled vehicles of the type in which the normal rotation of the pedal crank spindle, by action of the legs on the pedals, is adapted to be supplemented by pressure applied to the handle-bars transmitted to a uni-directional auxiliary driving device acting on the spindle, each of the handle-bars g are carried by one end f of a lever d pivoted about a fulcrum in a head structure secured to the steering column, the lever d being operatively connected by a flexible cable or cables m, i to the auxiliary driving device, and resilient means q connected across the device and a trailing portion o of the vehicle frame, yieldingly opposing the driving effort. The uni-directional driving device comprises a free-wheel mechanism secured to thepedal crank spindle and having a depending actuating arm n to which the flexible cable or cables is or are secured.
