Abstract

598,853. Protective cut out arrangements. STERN, W. L. Sept. 21, 1945, No. 24425. [Class 38(v)] [Also in Group XXXV] A current-limiting relay 7 suitable for disconnecting and reconnecting part of a domestic load, is energised from the main current through electromagnetic means, such as a transformer 10, which saturates at the operating value of the relay in order to restrict the current through the latter. Alternatively, the relay may shunt a saturable choke in series with a cooker, for example, and serve to cut out a water-heater.
