648,207. Protective cut-out arrangements. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd., and MASSEY, S. Dec. 16, 1948, No. 32610. [Class 38(v)] In an earth-leakage protective arrangement comprising an earth-leakage coil 13 connected between earth and an insulated metal shield 12, a second coil 11, in series with coil 13, is connected to the secondary winding 10 of a differential current transformer 7 having two primaries 8, 9, so that the circuit-breaker 4 is tripped by the unbalance due to an earth fault if the shield 12 is ineffective or becomes directly con-. nected to earth so as to shunt the coil 13. When either of coils 11, 13 is energized on. fault, contacts 6 are closed to energize a trip coil 5. The coil 11 may be energized by the arrangement described in Specification 592,468.
