587,803. Centrifugal mixing-apparatus. ROGERS, G. Jan. 4, 1945, No. 348. [Class 23] An apparatus for mixing together a solid, in powdered form, and a liquid, comprises a rotor 11 with teeth 19 coacting with teeth 26, on a stationary cover 20, the materials being forced outwards against the teeth, which act as baffles. An outlet pipe 29 may be adjusted to vary the height of the mixture in a bowl 6. An electric driving-motor, for a belt drive to a pulley 14, is secured to an adjustable mounting 15. Solid material and liquid may enter the machine through an inlet 24, and additional, or alternative, liquid inlets 30 may be provided. Bye-passes 31 may be placed as shown. The solid material may be introduced in counterflow to the liquid. The apparatus may be used for air-conditioning, dust-laden air passing through a liquid in counter-flow.
