Abstract
572,737. Hydraulic apparatus. PARNALL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and DRAPER, F. C. Nov. 1, 1941, No. 14099. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] Relates to rotary pumps of the kind in which a rotor with radially-sliding vanes rotates in a circular casing eccentric to the rotor, and consists in combining two such pumps 3 with an intermediate member 19 having inlet and outlet passages 25, 26, 27 for both pumps communicating with passages in the rotors 1 leading to the working chambers. The passages 26, 27 may be formed in spigots 28 or 19 which support the rotors and provide bores for the driving shaft 34. The pump chambers may be angularly adjusted to vary the output or reverse the pump. The pumps may be used for supplying fluid to motors 54 for operating turrets on aircraft, delivery from the pump A being by pipe 52 or 53 and intake by pipe 45 or 44, according to the setting of the stator. If the motor is held up, the oil from the delivery pipe can escape through a double relief valve 55 back to the pump 40. In another form, a gun ram is actuated by the delivery fluid of the pump.
