Abstract

501,505. Rotary pumps or meters. ALEXANDER. W. Sept. 2, 1938, No. 25683. [Class 110 (ii)] The pump or meter has solid or hullow vanes 14 impelled by a rotor 12, and is provided with annular recesses 22 which allow liquid leaking along the shaft 9 to pass to the inlet side 2. The rotor may have end-plates which rotate in recesses in the easing. Springs may be employed to press out the vanes. In a modifieation, solid rollers are arranged in radial slots in the rotor, and passages in the latter allow fluid, communication between the working chamber and the undersides of the rollers.
