Abstract

566,303. Fusible cut-outs. DORMAN & SMITH, Ltd., and ATHERTON, T. May 1, 1943, Nos. 6911 and 7682. [Class 38 (i)] A small fuse of high rupturing capacity is made by enclosing a fuse wire 2 of small mass in a strong tube 1, surrounding it with inert material 3 and sealing external end caps 6 air-tight to the ends of the tube by running in molten metal 7, which also connects the fuse wire to the inside of the caps. The ends of the fuse wire 2 are passed through asbestos washers 4 and coiled at 5 so as to be embedded in the metal 7.
