Abstract

560,103. Sliding - clasp fasteners. LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd. (Talon Inc.). Sept. 16, 1942, No. 13050. [Class 44] In a sliding clasp fastener applied to plaquet and other openings in which the string- ers 1, 2 are connected by a bridge top stop, the stop has means for yieldingly retaining the 'slider in its closed position. Fig. 3 shows a stop having rigid tubular portions 12, gripping the tape edges, connected by a resilient bridge-piece 13 of flat section and with inwardly directed projections 14 adapted to receive between.them and grip the wedge 7 of a slider 8 of usual form. In modifications the part 13 is of rigid tubular form and the projections 14 are replaced by inwardly projecting spring tongues struck out of parts 12 or by integral tongues projecting from the ends of parts 12 towards the slider. The stringer tapes are permanently connected at their other ends by a bottom stop (not shown) of usual 'kind.
