Abstract

552,203. Vehicle wheels. BOWER, W. and RENISHAW IRON CO., Ltd. Oct. 27, 1941, No. 13794. [Class 144 (i)] An attachment for preventing slipping comprising a ring 1 with radially and angularly adjustable spokes 3 carrying strakes 5, as set forth in Specification 518,805, is provided with interchangeable sets of spacing members 10 securable to the ring by bolts 12, whereby the attachment may be suited to various types o wheel and may be secured either on the outside or inside of the wheel. The ring itself is secured to the wheel by bolts 6, 8 passing through holes 7 in the body part and holes in lugs 9 respectively, and the spacers 10 may be located between bosses 13. The spacers may have notches &c. 14 to engage over bolt heads &c. on the wheel and transmit some of the driving effort to the ring. The ring may be centred by hooked members 17, Fig. 6, adjustably clamped in the ring. The ring member may be constituted, by webs 19, Fig. 7, connecting spoke bosses 18. ribs 20.being provided as seatings for the spacing blocks 10.
