A lubricating system according to the parent Specification in which the pressure relief valve comprises a cylinder 41, a bore or recess 33 spaced from or forming a continuation of the cylinder, a byepass passage 38 adapted to communicate with the bore 73 and a piston 43 which forms an annular throttling pressure with the wall of the bore when the piston moves to cut off the byepass from the pressure line 31.
