Abstract

[Class 7 (ii).] A combined valveguide and seating-ring 16, 17 is formed so that the guide replaces an existing valve-guide and the ring fits a recess 14 formed in the cylinder block. The guide and ring are connected by links 18, or by a conical and cylindrical member cut away on the side of the passage 11, the opposite side being cooled by the cylinder cooling water. The unit is retained by a nut 20, locked by a set-screw 22, the pressure being taken, either by the ring 17 or a flange on the guide.
