Abstract
502,395. Heating water ; valve accessories. JUNKERS & CO., GES. July 27, 1938, No. 22345. Convention date, July 27, 1937. [Class 64 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A non-return valve 15, Fig. 1, in the watersupply pipe of a water heater 19 is provided with means for allowing boiler water to return past the valve to a drain cock 13. The non- return valve may be lifted from its seat by a screwed spindle 24. In a modification, the spindle is suitably shaped to carry the closure member of the drain cock. In further modifications, the top of the spindle engages an opening in a casing carrying the seating of the non-return valve or itself forms the seating. A casing 43, Fig. 7, carrying the seating of a non-return valve 15 is supported on spring 45 and forms a pressure-relief valve. The heater is drained by unscrewing a cap 44 or a plug which presses the spring against the casing 43. A pressure relief valve 43, Fig. 10, seats in an aperture in the bottom of a fixed casing 52 and supports the non-return valve 15, which, when the cap 44 is unscrewed to drain the heater, is supported away from the aperture in the casing.
