Abstract

265,466. Barnard, F. J., and Ranells, H. J. Aug. 17, 1926. Closure members-A stop valve device of the kind provided with a secondary valve adapted to sweat on the underside of the main seating to facilitate repairs has the secondary valve spindle B arranged to pass up into the main spindle K where it bears against a screw E threaded through the top of the said spindle. The main valve J<1> is actuated by the screwed spindle K and has a washer J adapted to engage a seat D. The secondary valve C<1> is acted on by a spring F housed in a cap L and is provided with a washer C adapted to engage the underside of the seat D when the screw E is unscrewed from the top of the spindle K. The spring may be supported by a perforated plate resting on lugs cast on the inside of the inlet connection.
