492,249. Rail motor vehicles. ZAVODY RINGHOFFER-TATRA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST. March 19, 1938, No. 8500. Convention date, March 22, 1937. [Classes 79 (ii) and 79 (iii)] A driving-bogie for rail motor vehicles comprises a fourwheeled undercarriage 1 carrying the pivotal support 2 for the vehicle body together with the change-speed gear 3 and transmission gearing to one or both axles, whilst the engine 11 is carried on a frame 12 mounted on a separate pair of wheels and connected to the carriage 1 by a pivotal jont 8 within which the engine shaft is connected to the transmission shaft 9 by a joint 10, the joints being readily detachable to enable the wheeled engine unit to be withdrawn for inspection or repair.
