Abstract

471,946. Tandem - wing aeroplane. DELANNE, M. H. April 23, 1936, No. 11578. Convention date, July 4, 1935. [Class 4] An aeroplane having staggered wings 1, 2 includes stabilizing planes 7 mounted on and normal to the rear plane 2 ; the planes 7 are disposed parallel to the axis of the fuselage and carry adjustable control surfaces 9. The fuselage is habitable throughout its length and is provided with a rear cabin and gunner's cockpit. Ailerons 6 are provided on the wings. The wings may be connected by elements 8 and the planes may be disposed in the slipstream from the propellers. Landing gear as described in Specification 471,944 may be provided. The invention may be applied to seaplanes and an additional forward wing may be provided. The rear wing may be above or below the front wing and the cabin may be detachable for parachute descent.
