Abstract
383,497. Aircraft with tiltable propellers. MARMONIER, L., 146, Avenue Felix-Faure, Lyons, France. Feb. 25, 1932, No. 5652. Convention date, Sept. 24, 1931. Addition to 383,494. [Class 4.] The oppositely rotating propellers and engines described in the parent Specification are mechanically linked together and are tilted by a single force. Fig. 4 shows two statically balanced engines and propellers mounted on frames 30, 31 pivoted about transverse axes and geared or linked together and moved by a pedal 33 acting directly or through a servomotor. The axes of the propellers may normally be in line as shown or they may be staggered. The rest of the controls are actuated by a single lever 37. The elevator control comprises fore-and-aft planes 39, 38 linked together so as to balance their reactions upon the pilot's control lever. The pilot and passenger accommodation is arranged at the rear of the machine and a parachute 40 may be provided.
