[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] A press for producing articles such as dental plates has means whereby pressure may be applied to a mould in opposite directions simultaneously or in one direction only. A piston b works in a hydraulic cylinder b<1> and a flexible cover d backed by hydraulic pressure is positioned on a head c. A rigid crosshead m can be swung about a post l to form a rigid abutment. The mould f is rough pressed between the parts m, b, and the crosshead m is then swung to an inoperative position and the dental plate pressed between the cover d and a matrix supported by the piston b for the final pressing. The bore of the head e is of smaller diameter than the piston b to provide a locking force before pressure is applied to the head e. Specification 1662/97, [Class 83], is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a press without the crosshead m. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
