Abstract

262,472. Hydraulik Ges. Dec. 4, 1925, [Convention date]. Squirting.-In an extrusion-press the container 7 and the ram 6 are carried by heads 1, 2 which are moved relatively by columns 3 connected to one head and co-operating with cylinders 4a carried by the other head. The columns are bored at 5 to admit water under pressure to the cylin- 4a and have enlarged plungers 4 integral therewith. The ram 6 and closure 9 are both perforated so that a rod or the like may be extruded in either direction, a die 14 or pressure disc 17, Fig. 3 being placed in the end of the container 7 and a disc 11, Fig. 1, or a 'die 16. Fig. 3, in the perforation of the closure 9. This closure is held in place by a hollow head 8 and wedge 12 and may be removed for insertion of the billet 13, which may be hot or cold.
