Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 18, 1934]. Application for addition to 403,797, [Group XXVII]. [Class 57] The parent Specification describes a carburetter in which the maximum speed of the engine is limited to a predetermined value, by using the suction existing in front of and beyond the throttle valve in combination to stop or restrict the supply of fuel to the jets. According to the present invention, the combined suctions are utilized to act on a piston or diaphragm to modify the position of the throttle valve. As shown in Fig. 1, the suctions are transmitted through orifices 5, 6 and a tube 2 to a chamber 3 and act upon a spring-controlled piston 17 which through a lever 18 controls the throttle valve 4, the opening of which is limited by an abutment 23 carried by an accelerator rod 22. The chamber 3 may contain an air valve 7 controlled by the axle of the valve 4 as described in the parent Specification. In modified constructions, two throttle valves are provided in the induction pipe, one being controlled by the combined suctions and the other manually, and the manually controlled valve may be arranged either in front of or behind the suction controlled valve, which may be under the influence of the combined suctions existing in front of the first valve, between the valves, and beyond the second valve.
