[Class 110 (iii)] In a steam turbine plant for ship propulsion comprising high, intermediate, and low pressure turbines, the cruising speed sections are arranged in the high and intermediate pressure sections. Fig. 1 shows the high-pressure turbine having a main section A, and a cruising section B, and Fig. 3 shows the intermediatepressure turbine having a cruising section C and a main section D. The flow of steam through the connecting conduits 3, 4 for full speed or cruising is controlled by valves V, W. Various types of turbine may be used.
