Abstract

505,310. Turbine plant. JEBENS. 0., and BOEK, R. April 28, 1938, No. 12730. [Class 110(iii)] A turbine plant with an advance cruising turbine using a one-third partial-admission velocity-compounded first stage with two rows of blades 5, 5<1> to precede later ordinary stages 7 .. 7<111> for cruising speed is arranged so that at full speed steam is supplied over only the remaining two-thirds admission area and only to the first row of blades 5 whence the steam passes direct to the main turbine (not shown). This steam from the first row of blades 5 passes through radial pasages 13 to a space 14 extending about two-thirds around the casing and thence by the open valve 12 to a pipe 15 leading to the main turbine casing. The ring in which the radial passages 13 are provided has shrouding rims 16 to shield the second row of blades over the two-thirds periphery and has guide blades 6 over the other one-third periphery. The valve 12 is operated in mechanical connection with the change-over valves of the nozzle chests.
