[Class 110 (iii)] A high-temperature steam turbine plant has two sections a, b, of single flow and divided flow respectively, with intermediate superheating, running at a higher speed than the low-pressure section e. One arrangement is shown in Fig. 1, the turbine sections being coupled by gearing c, d, In a second arrangement, the sections a, b, each has a pinion c driving a common gear d.
