[Classes 110 (iii) and 122 (iii)] In a steam power plant as described in the parent Specificatior the auxiliary turbine 4 and the pre - heaters 7, 8 are arranged ir parallel with a stage of the prime mover 2 The regulating valve 1( valves 14, 15 in the pipes 11, 12, and the valve 20 in the pipe 19 leading to the condenser are inter - connected The turbine 4 may be supplied with steam from the main through the valve 20 and cooler 9. In a modification several turbines are arranged in parallel with a stage of the prime mover and the pre-heaters are arranged in parallel with another stage.
