Abstract

417,888. Spray-producers. McKEAN, J. G., Westerhill, Mount Vernon, Lanarkshire, and JONES, R. F., 239, Auldhouse Road, Newlands, Glasgow. July 14, 1933, No. 19925. [Class 69 (iii).] A liquid fuel burner atomizer comprises a body member 1 formed with passages 2, 3 for an atomizing agent and liquid fuel respectively, a disc 11 having a conical projection 12, and a cap 13 threaded on the member 1 and securing the disc 11 in position. Compressed air or steam supplied through the passage 2 to an annular recess 9 at the end of the member 1 passes through inclined passages 17 to the space between the projection 12 and the conical inner surface of the cap 13 and atomizes the oil supplied through the passage 3 and an axial passage 16 in the projection 12. The end portions 2<1>, 31 of the passages 2, 3 are eccentric to the main portions. The axes of the passages 17 may lie in planes radial to the disc or may be inclined in the same or opposite directions to these planes.
