Abstract

417,292. Automatic guns. WAFFENFABRIK SOLOTHURN' AKT.-GES., Solothurn, RAKULA, T., 10, St. Margarithenstrasse, and HERLACH, F., 9, Werkhofstrasse, both in Solothurn, Switzerland. Jan. 9, 1934, No. 813. [Class 92 (ii).] - To prevent rebound of the breech-block from altering the registration of locking lugs on the breech-block with corresponding lugs on the gun breech, a catch such as h is operated by the breech-block as it closes to couple the breechblock to the gun breech in the locking position. The invention is shown applied to a gun of the short recoil type, in which a pivoted catch h engages a recess a<3> in the gun casing to retain the barrel b in the recoiled position. On the return of the breech-block, an incline g<1> thereon releases the catch h from the casing and engages it with a projection g<3> on the block. The barrel then returns to its forward position meanwhile causing a sleeve c<2> to be rotated by a fiXed pin e to lock the breech.
