Abstract

281,197. Bloudicek, A. July 16, 1927. Clips and clamps, pivoted-jaw ; fastenings for bags; hook fastenings. -A pivoted spring- actuated catch 10 for handbags &c. has a transverse tongue 14 adapted to engage a corresponding groove 6 in the co-operating member 3. The member 10 which is pivotally mounted on a plate secured to one portion 8 of a bag &c., has a bent portion 15 acted on by a plate spring 13 which holds member 10 in the open position shown, end in the closed position. Member 3 is suitably secured to the other part 4 of the bag with the groove 6 parallel to the edge thereof. In a modification the pivoted member secured to one topframe member of a handbag is of L-section to embrace, when closed, the edge of the other frame member, in the top edge of which is provided the groove engaged by a tongue on the pivoted member.
