Abstract

400,618. Vacuum cleaners. HAMBIDGE, J. J., 2, Holmside Road, Nightingale Lane, and BRITISH VACUUM CLEANER & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., Parsons Green Lane, Fulham, both in London. April 22, 1932, No. 11642. [Class 8 (i).] A suction nozzle for a vacuum cleaner is provided on its under-side with ribs 2 recessed to retain pads 4 of yielding material fitted in staggered relationship. The ribs are cut away at 5 to allow passage of air. The socket 9 is fitted with a curved extension 12 engaging a face 10 on the suction nozzle and resiliently gripped by a member 13.
