Abstract

391,606. Vacuum cleaners. HOOVER, Ltd., Perivale, Greenford, Middlesex.- (Hoover Co. ; North Canton, Ohio, U.S.A.) April 27, 1932, No. 12065. [Class 8 (i).] The height of the suction nozzle and its area are simultaneously adjusted to suit the nature of the surface to be cleaned. The wheels 4 are carried on arms 8, 11 pivoted at 7, 12 respectively. Simultaneous movement of these arms is effected by the screw 10 through the link 13. At the same time the area of the mouth of the suction nozzle is varied by the sliding plate 15 connected to the link 13.
