425,955. Vacuum cleaners. ELECTROLUX, Ltd., Luton.-(Assignees of Lofgren, G. E. ; 26, Halsted Place, Rye, New York, U.S.A.) Oct. 6, 1934, No. 28659. Convention date, Oct. 7, 1933. [Class 8 (i)] A suction nozzle for vacuum cleaners has air directing means within the boundaries of the nozzle mouth for setting up a vortex movement of the air stream adjacent the surface being cleaned, for example, the bottom face of the nozzle has passages 16 extending tangentially into the suction passage 14 which may be tapered inwardly towards the mouth.
