Abstract

399,066. Cables. JORDAN, K., 8, Mnuchenerstrasse, Berlin. Jan. 25, 1933, No. 2448. [Class 36.] Paper-insulated conductors for an underground cable are enclosed in a corrugated aluminium sheath in contact with the paper insulation. The corrugations may be produced by the apparatus shown comprising a roller c for forming the corrugations and supporting rollers b, d for the smooth and corrugated portions of the cable respectively. The rollers are enclosed in a casing a provided with entrance and exit guides e, f. The exit guide f is provided with a lining of hard wood with a helical thread fitting the corrugations.
