Abstract
377,432. Sifting - apparatus. WESTWOOD, W. and DAWES, E. H., of Westwood Dawes & Co., Enville Street, Stourbridge, Worcestershire. July 25, 1931, No. 21328. [Class 117.] Relates to screening apparatus of the type in which two oppositely rotating unbalanced masses are utilized to produce vibrations at right angles to the surface of the screen, and consists in arranging the masses on two parallel shafts f extending across the screen, intergeared at h at the centre of the screen, and each provided with a pulley g at its end so as to maintain equality of load and serve as alternative driving means. The unbalanced masses may be incorporated in the gear wheels h or otherwise disposed as at i. The frame a, carrying the vibrating means and the screen b, is mounted on a rigid support through the medium of bolts and supporting springs. The gear wheels h and adjacent shaft bearings are enclosed in a casing k.
