Abstract

358,174. Fuel-injection pumps. L'ORANGE, P., 91, Robert-Boschstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. July 25, 1930, No. 22454. [Class 102 (i).] In a fuel-pump of the type in which the end of a hollow plunger c is closed by a spring- pressed valve e and the fuel above the valve e is discharged through a valve n, the valve e is formed with a flange f, which engages the end of a sleeve b surrounding the plunger, so that the commencement of injection is delayed until the plunger rises into contact with the valve e. The fuel is supplied from a pipe l to the interior of the plunger. The termination of injection is varied by rotating the plunger by a lever k, a relief port o in the plunger co-operating with an inclined edge p in the sleeve b. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 277,959, [Class 102 (i), Pumps &c.]. Specification 16204/13, [Class 102 (i), Pumps &c.], also is referred to.
