Abstract

255,652. Bushnell, C. H. Aug. 10, 1925. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In a fuel valve for a Diesel engine in which fuel is pumped into a reservoir in the valve and is expelled therefrom by air at a higher pressure than that of the injecting air acting on the outlet side of the reservoir, adjustable means are provided for restricting the pressure of the injecting air. The fuel is supplied through a passage 8 to a reservoir 7 and is expelled therefrom through orifices 14 to the injection air passage 11 when the valve 4 is opened, by the differential pressure produced by allowing the full air pressure to act on the fuel in the reservoir through a by-pass 16, and restricting the pressure in the injection air passage 11 by a rotatable plug 26.
