Abstract
357,925. Drawing squares. LÍFFLER, K., Bõrenwalde, Saxony, Germany. Feb. 24, 1931, No. 5817. Convention date, Feb. 26, 1930. [Class 97 (iii).] A drawing-square comprises two pivoted limbs a, b, with a scale t<1> of degrees marked on one limb a concentric with the pivot g, the inside edges e<1>, e<2> serving for measuring angles ranging from 0‹ to about 160‹ and the outside edges f<1>, f<2>, when one limb has been swung round serving for measuring angles ranging from about 160‹ to 180‹, for which there is a scale t<2> of larger radius with the numerals in reverse order. The pivot g is not at the intersection of the ruling edges. The edge c of the limb b is radial to the pivot and serves as a pointer with respect to the scale t<1> reading from 0‹ to 160‹, whilst an index mark d on the limb b serves as a pointer with respect to the scale t<2>. The portion of the limb b near the pivot is made thinner than the remainder, the recess being shaped to enable the limbs to be easily set at right-angles.
