365,944. Scales. MUZICZKA, G., Fischern, near Karlsbad, Czecho-Slovakia, and HEINRICH, E., Selb, Bavaria, Germany. May 28, 1931, No. 15676. Convention date, May 28, 1930. [Class 97 (iii).] For enlarging or reducing drawings a pair of scales pivot with their zero marks at a common fixed point so that the distance of a given point of an original drawing from the pivot may be read on one scale and the corresponding point of the copy set out by the other scale along the same radial line. In the form shown the thin flexible strips A, B are marked with scale proportions in the ratio 2-5 : 1. The zero points p of both edges of each scale are provided with circular projections having central apertures. The apertures uv, ov one of which is on a raised portion overlapping the outer scale receive a pin for securing the scales to the drawing surface. A rubber ball pierced by the pin presses the scales against the surface. The part of the scale A not in use may be covered by a strip l of lencoplast. Each scale may be provided with a sliding part r by which noughts may be added after the graduation numerals as desired so that the same scales may be used for all proportions differing only in decimal relation. If the drawing is too large to be copied from a single pivot point an auxiliary grid is necessary, the mark m indicating the largest possible grid.
