Abstract

319,161. White, J. D. Nov. 14, 1928. Protractors.-A protractor for navigational use comprises a transparent strip A on which is marked a semi-circular protractor scale having its diameter coincident with, or parallel to, one edge C of the strip. The protractor is marked with four sets of graduation marks J - - M, all arranged anticlockwise. The graduations J, K are for use with meridian lines and are respectively numbered from 0‹ to 180‹ and from 180' to 360‹. The graduations L, M are for use with latitude parallels and are respectively numbered from 90‹ to 270‹ and from 370‹ through 360‹ or zero to 90‹. Two or more semicircular protractors as above may be marked on the same strip. The edge C is marked with length graduations.
