Abstract

167,075. Morrison, L. H. July 16, 1920. Protractors; rulers.-A drawing-instrument particularly intended for plotting courses &c. comprises a parallel ruler having a wide limb 1 and a narrow limb 2 connected by slotted links 3, 4. The limb 1 has a circular aperture in which is rotatably mounted a disc 9 marked with compass graduations and having a transparent central part which is divided into quadrants by lines passing through the cardinal points. The centre of the disc 9 lies on the centre-line 11 of the limb 1. The limb 1 is marked with diagrams for use in converting magnetic or compass courses to true courses or vice versa, and for correcting courses for. leeway.
