Abstract
325,336. Pomeroy, L. H., and Daimler Co., Ltd. Dec. 22, 1928. Force-feed lubricating; lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.-Preliminary lubrication of parts of an internal-combustion engine at starting, when the oil is cold and thick, is effected by wipers 6 on the big end bearing 7, which dip into troughs 4, to which oil is supplied through a blow-off or bye-pass 1 and a pipe 3, and which are constructed with outlet holes 9 retarding the escape of the thick oil, but allowing a free escape of the oil when warm. In addition, the troughs, to which oil may be supplied by a bleed orifice in the delivery pipe of the oil circulating system, may be open-ended.
