Abstract

284,188. Welshofer, J. J. Nov. 19, 1927. Striking-plates for locks and latches.-A latch plate 14 is detachably secured in an aperture 13 of a sheet metal door frame 12 by integral or attached means forming part of the plate. The plate 14 and aperture 13 may have, bevelled edges, the plate carrying a fixed strip 19 and a turnplate 21. If the latch aperture 15 is eccentric, the plate may be reversed to adjust the height of the aperture 15. In a modification, Fig. 4, the plate 25 carries springs 28 engaging flanges 23, 24 on the frame. An alternative form which is not reversible carries a spring at one end and a fixed strip at the other end.
