Abstract
278,957. Crowe, H. March 21, 1927. Closure members piston; seats. -A hydraulic valve comprises a mitre valve F whose spindle passes downward through the valve seat, the head of the mitre valve forming a piston D slidable within the lower part of a cage c holding the seat B in position so as to control ports E in said cage. The pressure tight joint between the cage and the casing is vertical and has a diameter equal to the greatest diameter of the cage. The cage automatically adjusts itself to any new position caused by the re-machining of the mitre and of only one flat surface of the seat to retain the original relative position of the valve head and the ports in the cage. Specification 232,304 is referred to.
